oevaali art gallery ON VIEW OCTOBER, 2026 RECENT WORKS | RAYA MANSOOR
“I work with colour and form as a way of exploring movement, memory, and place.” Raya Mansoor is a Maldivian artist and Economics graduate working primarily with acrylic and oil. Her work is centered on painting as a process of exploration, building compositions through layers of colour and texture that develop gradually over time. Drawing from personal experience and island life, her work explores an ongoing interest in colour, emotion, and the relationship between what is seen, felt, and remembered. Alongside years of studio practice, she has further developed her work through painting studies in Provence, France. About the artist
Avi Series Avi by Raya Mansoor is a series born from the warmth of the islands, where the sun touches everything: the ocean, the land, and the people who call it home. It is about life lived under that constant light, felt in quiet mornings, in the movement of the sea, and in the golden hours that bring each day to a close. It is about all that it creates. The shifting colours of the water, the bursts of blooms and hidden life, and the memories of growing up in its glow.

Plein-air Studies
“I began the series of Provence 2026 studies during an artist residency in the South of France, testing colour and light in a smaller form. They became a space to observe the landscape more closely. Each holds an early instinct or fragment that later shaped a larger work.“

Soir 2026 | Maldives Acrylic, Oil on Canvas 200 x 90 cm Panel (Canvas), Framed (Gold) “I wanted it to feel like an evening you could almost step into, the point in the day when the sun begins to leave, colours deepen and the landscape asks for a slower kind of attention.”
Soir is about that in-between moment, when you are left to decide what the day meant. “The work began with a smaller study, Provence I, 2026, where I took the time to look closely at the the movement and changing colours of the landscape. Back in the studio, it became less of a direct reference and more of a feeling to return to, expanded through memory of home, scale, and the colours and forms I have been exploring in the series Avi.”

Curated for your space Beyond the lived experience of ownership, original works have historically held their value in ways that furniture, lighting, and textiles simply do not. A considered collection, built around artists with genuine momentum or cultural relevance, appreciates alongside the culture itself. It is one of the few acquisitions where the pleasure of ownership and the logic of investment are not in conflict. With deep knowledge of our artists and their stories, we ensure each piece you acquire is meaningful and beautifully suited to your space.
