Digital Illustration Giclée Print
Her body is adorned in copper, reflecting her ancestral roots. Her ears, both lobes and cartilage, bear twelve piercings. Her neck is layered with medallions. Her arms and feet are ringed with cuffs, anklets, and toe rings. I wrapped her in feyli, black with white borders, from waist to knees.
Lapis lazuli, turquoise, and amazonite stones of the Indus Valley in her embellishments link her to ancient shores and indigenous beauty.
Her hair, lustrous and fragrant with coconut oil and jasmine, is knotted to the left, so 'not a hair strays hither nor thither.' in the memory of the women of Girāvaru, whose lineage is said to carry the earliest Dravidian blood of the Maldives.
