This sculpture captures the graceful spiral of the nautilus shell, an ancient marine wonder that has fascinated scientists and artists for centuries. Known for its perfectly proportioned chambers and natural symmetry, the nautilus is a rare and mysterious creature found only in select parts of the ocean. 

This work marks a sculptural exploration by Raya Mansoor, whose primary focus is painting. In 2019, a commissioned piece inspired her to experiment with plaster, adding a new layer to her work as a painter.
